See the city beneath your feet
The Euromast offers not only breathtaking views of Rotterdam, but it also adds a real thrill experience to the Euroscoop. The experience, designed by Northernlight, reflects the colorful and diverse identity of Rotterdam. With the incorporation of the brand-new and intelligent glass floor, which changes from opaque to transparent, the Euroscoop ride becomes even more thrilling. This innovative addition truly elevates the experience, providing an immersive sensation like never before and adding an extra ‘wow factor’ to the overall experience. During a ride on the Euroscoop, you can see the city and its surroundings from all sides, while the glass floor beneath you becomes transparent, creating a sensation of floating above Rotterdam. It’s an exciting experience enhanced with a light show, sound effects, and music that continues until you reach the top, where you get a 360-degree perspective of Rotterdam.
A journey from ME to WE
NorthernLight completely redesigned the Euroscoop ride and the surrounding experience and developed a concept for the overarching experience: “Colourful Rotterdam: a journey from ME to WE.’’The Euroscoop is like a colour-scope, reflecting all colours and languages of Rotterdam. The experience is about inspiring the visitors and taking them on a journey from their own ME-perspective to a WE-feeling about the city, Europe and beyond. Arriving to the Euromast deck, one will immediately see the colourful lamellas, changing the visitors perspective from ME to WE, whilst walking along. Visitors can find colourful quotes in the most spoken languages of Rotterdam. The Euroscoop ride is the absolute climax of this journey: beyond the individual and beyond the moment. At lift off visitors experience an uplifting soundscape, together with immersive colourful LED light effects. Visitors get their “feet up off the ground” and once the Euroscoop is in mid air, a multi language urban poem starts to inspire and educate visitors about the vibrant city of Rotterdam. Going down, visitors will see the city and its stories in a different, more colourful light. With the addition of the glass floor, visitors can now witness the city from a whole new perspective. It’s an unforgettable journey that not only showcases the beauty and diversity of Rotterdam but also invites visitors to embrace a collective identity and connection with the city, Europe, and beyond.
