WOPL!
In Amsterdam, a new indoor experience invites children and adults to explore, create and learn together. WOPL! World of Play and Learning is designed by NorthernLight and brings imagination to life through three thematic worlds: Water, Construction and Art. Each world sparks creativity and curiosity, encouraging children up to eight years old to learn through play. The worlds of WOPL! encourage shared experiences through play, discovery and making. Each world has its own character and vibrant atmosphere, that invite both children and adults to participate.
Three immersive worlds
The design immerses visitors in three colourful and organic worlds, each carefully shaped to stimulate imagination and curiosity. In the World of Water, children explore how water behaves and moves. They guide water droplets through a course, fish objects from the WOPL! boat and create large soap bubbles. Water is presented as both a playful element and an important resource. The World of Construction is about making and doing. Children load dump trucks, activate chain reactions and climb into a construction pit. Learning takes place through action, experimentation and physical engagement. The World of Art invites free creation. Children can paint digitally, draw on large sheets, play with art puzzles and explore colour using light. Creativity is approached as an open process without a predefined outcome.
Now open for play and discovery
We would like to thank WOPL! for the inspiring collaboration and trust in developing this world of play and learning. We also thank Brandwacht & Meijer for the production and 50lux for the lighting design. Photos By Rox Photography.
