In the new Madurodam miniature city in The Hague, visitors can discover what makes the Netherlands special. The miniatures and their stories come to life in the new Madurodam. There is a lot to see, experience, and do!
NorthernLight was responsible for part of the concept design and art direction of this major renewal. Additionally, NorthernLight designed the interactives, together with The Unschooled Mind Company.
A new layer of experience and interaction
In total, NorthernLight designed 20 interactives that add a whole new layer of experience and interaction to Madurodam.
Roll up your sleeves! You can now load the containers onto the cargo ship in Rotterdam port, fly a plane from Schiphol and operate the Oosterscheldekering storm surge barrier to prevent the village that lies behind from flooding. Do it yourself!
Collect information, stories, movies and digital souvenirs
NorthernLight also developed the concept for the multimedia experience at Madurodam, together with Kiss The Frog. With a special RFID pass, visitors can collect information, stories, movies and digital souvenirs for further viewing at special touch screens in the park. Or they can watch and explore the Madurodam website after their visit. Through digital exploration visitors discover what makes the Netherlands so unique.
