Dutch heritage
NorthernLight worked on the content strategy and design of the interior scenography for the Dutch Pavilion for the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China. The building, designed by architect John Körmeling, spans a 450 meter red street in the shape of the Chinese lucky number 8. The pavilion is a celebration of Dutch innovations in the field of sustainability, environment and urban development. Visitors can walk along a showcase of Dutch architectural history.
Better city, better life
John Körmeling’s views on urban planning as well as on architecture are the basis of his design for Happy Street. In his view, a “Better City” starts with a good street. A good street should be a street full of life where people can meet, live, work, eat, play and shop.
