Attract younger audience
The Portuguese Synagogue in Amsterdam, built at the end of the 17th century, is still an active place of worship and also a popular tourist attraction. NorthernLight was asked to create an interactive experience that would attract a younger audience, including school classes and families.
iPad game about freedom, migration and religion
NorthernLight designed and developed an iPad game enabling visitors to explore the synagogue and get to know more about the rich history and contemporary life of Amsterdam’s Portuguese Jews. They meet rabbis, the banished philosopher Spinoza and a Jewish bride. Through interactive assignments and activities, they learn about themes like freedom, migration and religion.
