Objective
The Templeborough Melting Shop at Rotherham was once the largest steel-making factory in the world. It re-opened as the Magna Science Adventure Centre devoted to the elements: earth, water, air and fire.
Approach
For Magna NorthernLight developed two multi-user computer games on mining and on water use.
‘The Keep It Flowing’ exhibit is a four player computer game centered around a large water tank. Try to distribute water to industry, agriculture and households as efficiently as possible! The central tank shows if you have enough supplies left.
‘The Not In My Backyard’ exhibit is all about making choices. Would you allow a mining company to start up close to your home? Visitors vote with their feet: walk to the YES or NO square for each of the questions.
