Innovative young minds
Innovation and ambitious entrepreneurship are two central themes in the corporate story of Philips. Since the first light bulb was developed, the company has been dedicated to even more meaningful innovations. From technologies that make healthcare more affordable and accessible to making energy-efficient LED lighting solutions.
100 years of Philips research
In celebration of 100 years of Philips research, NorthernLight joined forces with the Philips Museum in order to make children curious about how things work. We came up with an innovative solution that will stimulate children’s curiosity and spark their imagination; to make them the future inventors. NorthernLight developed, designed and implemented Mission Eureka. This is an unique iPad based interactive game for all the family about 100 years of Philips inventions. People can play the game together in a group of 2, 3 or 4 people.
A family mission
At various points in the Philips museum the iPad makes contact with a console to start an interactive group game with quizzes, puzzles and games. The team is presented with ‘challenges’ that they have to solve, just like real researchers. Working together as a team you find out how LED light works and what X-rays do, for example. But team members can also compete against one another. These group games, which all four people can also play on the iPad at the same time, make Mission Eureka unique. The innovative iBeacon technology used means that the iPad automatically recognizes where the game is and each time starts the group games right away.
