Myths come to life
The impressively adorned Royal Palace in Amsterdam holds many different stories and myths that can be found in its paintings and sculptures. The temporary summer exhibition “Hidden Stories, discover the Palace Myths” explores the palace’s hidden stories in all their richness. It was NorthernLight who was asked to bring these complex stories, myths, legends and anecdotes to life in an appealing and interactive way, without losing the essence and depth of the stories.
Multimedia stations around every corner
NorthernLight developed special multimedia stations that highlight the hidden stories that are hidden throughout the Royal palace. Here, visitors can watch flip book animations that tell the mythological tales in a simple yet compelling way. A special spotlight directs the visitor’s eye to the area of the painting that showcases the story that is told in the video. Another part of the exhibition is the showcase table, where some of the most important historical books are presented. These books were an important source of inspiration for the mythological decorations that can be found throughout the palace.
Long-lasting memories
The impressive exhibition catalogue, as well as a beautiful little flip book were also designed by NorthernLight. The flip book tells the mythological stories of Atlas and Icarus, whose statues are prominently featured in the Royal Palace. It is designed for visitors to take home after the visitor, making it into a lasting memory of their visit.
