More exclusive experience
De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam and World Press Photo made a virtue of necessity: “the first 100 percent covid-proof exhibition in the 1.5 meter society”. The exhibition meets the requirements for hygiene and social distancing. The exhibition is more spacious, and to get close to the visitor’s number of last year, the exhibition will last longer. The spacious design with more personal space gives visitors a more exclusive experience and creates more room for reflection.
Iconic setup, more impact
Last year NorthernLight redesigned the World Press Photo flagship exhibition to make it attractive for a wider and more diverse audience. After a very positive reception and because of the flexibility of the design, the new design has been applied to this year’s exhibition as well.
Through an iconic setup, visitors experience the impact a single image can have on a country, the world, the news and social media. New elements that were added last year have been included again, like the World Press Photo Iconic Images and an iconic timeline with all World Press Photos of the Year and World Press Photo milestones since the organization was founded in 1955. To show visitors all Covid-related requirements in a clear way, NorthernLight redesigned the floorplan.
International competition
The World Press Photo exhibition presents more than 150 award-winning photos and videos from the world’s largest and most prestigious photography competition, including the World Press Photo of the Year and the World Press Photo Story of the Year. The competition includes the work of 44 photographers and visual journalists from 24 countries.
To create this covid-proof exhibition, NorthernLight worked in close collaboration with World Press Photo, De Nieuwe Kerk and Iris Vormgeving.
