Museums + Heritage Awards 2024
Mission Masterpiece, the first family exhibition at the Rijksmuseum, won the Museums + Heritage Awards 2024 for International Exhibition of the Year. We received and celebrated this prestigious award during a festive ceremony in London. We are honored by this international recognition.
NorthernLight, in collaboration with the Rijksmuseum team, conceptualized the exhibition. The final design was executed by NorthernLight in close cooperation with Irma Boom Office. Mission Masterpiece invites young participants to take on the role of Rijksmuseum restorers and scientists. The design transforms the Phillips Wing of the Rijksmuseum into an expansive research lab, inspired by the museum’s renowned Atelier. The exhibition features six research labs, each devoted to a specific object for children to explore.

The Museums + Heritage Awards celebrate the finest achievements in museums, galleries, and cultural and heritage visitor attractions worldwide. This year saw a record number of entries, with awards presented to institutions of all sizes from around the globe. We are very proud on this award for this inspiring project.
