Stimulating human imagination
As a pioneer in the design of transformative experiences, NorthernLight constantly works on creating spaces and installations that stimulate human imagination. We believe in the affirmation of creativity through play. Playful installations give us a way how to experience reality. Play is a means to opening ourselves up, to experiment with the potential of what the future might offer rather than clinging to the illusory identity that the present places before us.
Collective creative minds
Creative minds have always worked together and we started creating these installations with a collective of artists, writers, dancers, engineers, developers and filmmakers. We strive to create spaces that respond to human actions, that understand who we are and foremost what we aspire to be.
Landscape of consciousness
Play is enhanced by setting and idea of roles and structures. In our unconsciousness we are filled with these rules and we as consciousness beings are continuously looking to justify our intuition with reason. “Landscape of consciousness’ plays with these duality. We created beautiful imaginary landscapes to play with emotions as fears, doubt, imagination. These mini participatory plays invite visitors to avenues that open new possibilities, new ways of perceiving reality.
Labyrinth of Light
Labyrinths have been humans constructs to explore the inner mind. It represents a journey to our own center and back again out into the world. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools. A labyrinth is an archetype with which we can have a direct experience. Walking the labyrinth can be considered an initiation in which one awakens the knowledge encoded within their DNA. On the journey in, towards the center, one cleanses the dirt from the road. On the journey out, one is born anew to consciously dwell in a human body, made holy by having got a taste of the Infinite Center.
The beach
Transport yourself to childhood memories and to the space of leisure and recreation. In beach we recreated the boundary of water and land in an unexpected memorable landscape. This space is active, changing with time, open to change and transformation by the users. They impact boundaries between water and land, sit on the beach listening to the waves and seaugulls. By encouraging interaction within this landscape this installation prompts people to question their usual perceptions of the natural environment. With their colourful chairs, toys and gear they bring colour to pristine nature. What is nature what is us.
Let’s get physical
In this a sentient installation about attraction we experiment with the most essential need of human beings: moments if intimacy. Lucid beams of light welcome you once you enter the installation, forming colourful and unpredictable rings around your footsteps, stimulation connection and interaction. It playfully connects people. They spontaneously start to play around and discover the effects of their movements. This multisensory space debuted at FrameLab, a two-day event for designers, architects and innovative brands. The installation made grown men and women in smart clothing dancing to no music and casually bumping into each other.
