In the summer of 2007 a new planetarium opened in the hills above the city of Torino, named ApritiCielo.

Objective
ApritiCielo is set up as an educational visitor centre about astronomy and space physics. It uses a diverse range of educational techniques such as, hands-on exhibits, models and serious games to give insight into the fascinating theories and knowledge of the Universe. An introduction dome projection theatre provides a virtual discovery journey of the Universe, our solar system and galaxies.
Approach
In four floors the centre shows the remarkable scientific achievements of the past centuries from the antiquities till the recent exploration of Mars. It expands on human creativity and perseverance to make sense of the Universe surrounding us: a mission that’s only partially completed.
