Objective
On the banks of Glasgow’s river Clyde, a prestigious science centre opened its doors in 2001. NorthernLight developed one of the three main permanent exhibitions: ‘Science and You’. This 1,000 square meter exhibition is about the impact of scientific and technological developments on society.
Approach
The main topics of this highly interactive exhibition are environmental technology, biomedical science and risk management. The exhibition features several large icons for the thematic activity areas. The icons are the Risk-bridge, the Science in the Dock theatre, the Lab, and the Biomedical Blobs. The exhibition also features four live trees standing over seven meters tall. Each area uses a variety of interactivity to involve visitors with the concepts of risk, science on trial and the Glasgow environment. The exhibition also features a hands-on microscopy lab.
