Our vision has been translated in a sustainable visitor experience, fixed and flexible landscape, architectural and exhibition components and a media strategy, using cutting edge mobile media, and augmented reality tours.

Location

‘t Zwin nature reserve, Knokke, Belgium

Objective

The Zwin is a magnificent nature park on the border between Belgium and the Netherlands. At high tide the mudflats and salt marshes are entirely or partially flooded by the sea, which is what makes this intertidal area so unique. In this manner a very special biotope for numerous birds and plants is created.

Approach

A consortium with architects KCAP, the Stijlgroep and NorthernLight have developed a master plan for this dynamic area suited to diverse needs of its stakeholders: the local and regional government, local entrepreneurs, and tourists. Our vision has been translated in a sustainable visitor experience, fixed and flexible landscape, architectural and exhibition components and a media strategy, using cutting edge mobile media, and augmented reality tours.
