Interactive family quest
The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam hosts many of the world’s finest masterpieces: with a collection of more than 8,000 treasures across 80 exhibition rooms, spanning more than 1,5 kilometers. The museum wanted to create an experience that enables families to enjoy the museum experience together. In collaboration with the Rijksmuseum team, NorthernLight developed the concept and game play for this unique family app.
Make your own Vermeer
This interactive quest take families on a hour-long journey through the museum to discover secrets and unravel the mysteries of the paintings and artefacts. On their quest, visitors also gather clues to solve the end puzzle. Every family member gets their own device that is digitally linked to the devices of family members. In that way, they can play together and jointly solve the mysteries. Interactive mini-games within the app, including “Make your own Vermeer”, make the paintings come to life.
