ROYAL OPENING INFORMATION CENTER CANADIAN WAR cemetery HOLTEN

On Friday the 2nd of September Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and her husband Professor LLM Pieter van Vollenhoven opened the Information Center Canadian War Cemetery in Holten.

The Information Center is an interactive center about the cemetery and about the liberation of the northern and eastern provinces of the Netherlands in 1945. The stories all told through interactives, audio visual presentations, objects and personal stories. All soldiers are respectfully remembered in a Remembrance Wall and the rich database gives information about all the soldiers buried on the war cemetery.

During the opening ceremony Princess Margriet and Mr. van Vollenhoven unveiled the art piece by artist Mrs. Annemiek Punt. The art piece bears the title ‘For all Generations’ and symbolizes the liberation and gratitude.
